Privacy Policy

Portico Advisers, LLC (“Portico”) values your privacy. It is Portico’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website. Our website address is: https://porticoadvisers.com.

Website visitors

Like most website operators, Portico collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Portico’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Portico’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Portico may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Certain visitors to Portico’s website choose to interact with Portico in ways that require Portico to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Portico gathers depends on the nature of the interaction.

For example, we ask visitors who sign up for our newsletter to provide their name, email address, and firm type, but only an email address is required.

Those who engage in transactions with Portico — by purchasing access to our Informal Guide to Raising Your First Private Equity Fund, for example — are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions.

In each case, Portico collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Portico. Portico does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Analytics
The third-party website analytics tools that collect automated information about visitor traffic on our Site include Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., on our Site. Google Analytics uses cookies or other tracking technologies to help us analyze how users interact with and use the Site, compile reports on the Site’s activity, and provide other services related to the Site’s activity and usage. The technologies used by Google may collect information such as your IP address, time of visit, whether you are a return visitor, and any referring website. The information generated by Google Analytics will be transmitted to and stored by Google and will be subject to Google’s privacy policies. You can learn how Google collects and processes data and how to opt out of tracking of analytics by Google, by clicking here.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Aggregated statistics

Portico may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its website. For instance, Portico may monitor the most popular webpages on its site. Portico may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Portico does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Disclosures of certain personally-identifying information

Portico discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Portico’s behalf or to provide services available at Portico’s website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Portico’s website, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.

Portico will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone.

Other than to its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, Portico discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Portico believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Portico, third parties or the public at large.
